Background: R2-S8 was an R2-series astromech droid with white, black and red plating and a black sensor. Like all R2 astromech droids, it stood 93 centimeters tall and was manufactured by Industrial Automaton. In 13 BBY, R2-S8 was present in Coronet Spaceport in Coronet City on the planet Corellia. Following a breach of the customs gates causing a security alert in the spaceport, R2-S8 was displaying a blue hologram from its holoprojector for a pair of Imperial Fleet Troopers when a nearby family of humans was forcefully separated by stormtroopers.
